I intend this website to become an electronic Commonplace Book. Wherein you shall find all sorts of useful tidbits, though often in many topics that have no relationship to one another. This is mostly because I have the attention span of a ferret with a cola addiction. You've been warned.
I'm one of those people who has a constant need to tinker, fiddle, and learn. Luckily, there are outlets for this. My main interests tend to be needlework, baking, and gardening. Lately, most of this has been with a historical focus.
Since there is, after all, very little point in making pretty dresses unless you have someplace to wear them, I am a member of the Society of the Creative Anachronism. If you share that hobby and came looking for information - welcome. If you're just floating by - enjoy the site, and google for the SCA if you're confused. After which, you'll likely be more confused. As I have (quite a bit of) family of Friesian extraction, or at least the Northern provinces of the Netherlands, you'll find quite a bit of my information centers on that part of the world, primarily in the 16th century.
At any rate, explore, check back periodically for updates, and feel free to use E-mail to jiggle my elbow if there is something specific you want to know. Please feel free to bookmark - but I'd recommend only bookmarking this page. This site runs on a content management system called "Joomla!" I really like this system (and I'll be happy to give you my experiences if you E-mail me). BUT its method of accessing the database of articles and displaying them makes the urls more fluid. Especially if I reorganize things. This is highly likely, on a somewhat regular basis - (Ferret + cola, remember?) So, link to this page, use the breadcrumbs, and let me know if you find something difficult to navigate.
