Women's Dress in 16th Century Noord-Holland

A set of paintings hanging in the Kaasmuseum in Alkmaar, the Netherlands demonstrates the local costume of 24 ladies from various towns, most of them along the Zuider Zee. I was intrigued enough by the uniqueness of these outfits to spend some time researching them. This site will grow as I collect more information. Please check back from time to time.
